Ceramic Coating in Vancouver, WA & Portland, OR
The best long-term protection for your vehicle's paint. Professional-grade ceramic coating that lasts up to 5 years — applied mobile, right at your location.
What Is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's factory paint, forming a semi-permanent protective layer. Unlike wax, which sits on top of the paint and washes away over time, ceramic coating becomes part of the surface itself — providing durable, long-lasting protection against UV rays, water, chemical contaminants, bird droppings, light scratches, and road grime.
The result is a hydrophobic surface where water beads and rolls off effortlessly, a deep glossy shine that goes far beyond anything wax can achieve, and paint protection that keeps your car looking newer for longer. Our professional ceramic coating lasts up to 5 years with proper maintenance — making it one of the best investments you can make in your vehicle.
Our Ceramic Coating Process
A professional ceramic coating isn't just sprayed on — proper preparation is critical to the bond and longevity of the coating. Here's exactly what our process includes:
Step 1: Full Exterior Wash & Rinse
We start with a thorough hand wash using pH-neutral soap to remove all surface dirt, debris, and grime. Every panel, wheel, tire, glass surface, and trim piece is cleaned.
Step 2: Paint Decontamination
Chemical decontamination with an iron remover and fallout remover lifts embedded iron particles and industrial fallout from the paint surface — contaminants invisible to the naked eye that would otherwise prevent the coating from bonding properly.
Step 3: Clay Bar Treatment
A clay bar is used to physically pull out any remaining embedded contaminants, leaving the paint surface glass-smooth and ready for correction and coating.
Step 4: Paint Correction
Before coating, the paint must be free of defects. We perform a one or two-step machine polish to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and water spots. This step ensures the coating locks in the best possible finish. Learn more about our paint correction service.
Step 5: Two Layers of Ceramic Coating
With the paint prepped and perfected, we apply two layers of professional-grade ceramic coating. Each layer is carefully applied panel by panel and leveled to ensure an even, flawless bond. The coating is then left to cure, creating an incredibly hard, hydrophobic shell over your paint.
Ceramic Coating vs. Wax
- Durability: Ceramic coating lasts 3–5 years; wax lasts 2–4 months
- Protection: Ceramic coating resists UV rays, chemicals, and minor scratches; wax offers minimal protection
- Hydrophobia: Ceramic coating repels water dramatically better than wax
- Gloss: Ceramic coating provides a deeper, more consistent gloss
- Maintenance: Ceramic-coated vehicles are easier to wash and maintain
Ceramic Coating Maintenance Tips
To get the most life out of your ceramic coating, we recommend: washing your car every 2 weeks with a pH-neutral soap, avoiding automatic car washes with brushes, having a maintenance wash done periodically, and using a ceramic detail spray between full washes to boost hydrophobia.
